In 1881, John Francis Shea opened a small one-man plumbing company in Portland, Oregon. From these humble beginnings, Shea advanced into various building industries to become one of the nation’s largest and oldest privately-owned construction companies. Through the years, the company played a key role in the construction of important projects including the Golden Gate Bridge, Hoover Dam, and the Liberty Ships used in World War II. In 1968, the residential division was created, and has been building quality homes and providing an unparalleled customer experience through its Shea Homes®, Trilogy®, and Shea Signature® brands in ten states across the country.
